Deposits

Deposits are substances that adhere to the surface of the contact lens during wear. They can be divided into organic and inorganic deposits. The organic deposits are formed by metabolites of protein or fat origin, which are normal components of tears. Inorganic deposits are composed of elements of microscopic particles of dirt. Deposits can cause inflammation, eye irritation or redness.

Improper care of contact lenses, or using contaminated solution, can create bacterial deposits on your lenses.

Deposits do not affect the quality of vision, and that is why they are often neglected by the contact lens wearers. It is important to respect the manufacturer's re¬commended length of use of contact lenses. Every material reacts differently to deposits, and its recommended exchange cycle reflects this.

Many contact lens solutions come with an antibacterial lens case, which can help reduce deposits on your lenses. You can take a look at the offer here.
